Sutton Coldfield Marquetry Group was formed in 1998 and has expanded over the years into a friendly thriving group with a large and growing membership. We meet in Curdworth Church Hall on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7pm.

Curdworth has excellent road links and is easily accessible across a wide geographical area from all points of the compass.

Our club nights always attract a large number of keen members of all abilities, from beginners to premier standard. In addition to welcoming experienced marquetarians we encourage newcomers to the craft by offering free beginners taster sessions under the guidance of our experienced members. We now have a strong and enthusiastic beginner’s section developing their abilities with help from our skilled members.

Our evenings take on a practical format with occasional demonstrations.

Marquetry is an inexpensive hobby to take up except for wood veneers which can be expensive, however we hold a large selection of marquetry veneers and these are available free to all members within the modest £3 nightly charge which is mainly cover hall hire costs.

If you would like to know more about us, and what we do please contact our secretary Mike Roberts for more information, or just turn up at one of our club nights. You will receive a warm welcome.
