Natural Mother of Pearl (Madre Perla) is carefully sanded to a thickness of 2mm so that the most colourful elements of the Mother of Pearl become prominent and available to work with.
These 2mm Mother of Pearl pieces are then divided into workable segments which can be saw cut into shape for use in opuses such as calligraphy and decorative marquetry.
All woods used as a component of this technique are un-dyed and display only their natural colours.
