Marquetry in Holland

These very intricate designs are a rather superb example of the style of beautiful and eye catchingly delicate complicated marquetry and parquetry patterns so perfectly produced by the Marquetarians of Holland.

The 3-D effect you see in the panels of these table tops are a wonderful optical illusion that tricks the eye into seeing depth and shapes in the designs that do not physically exist.
